How Would You Like to Pay?

Sam Houston EC statements are mailed monthly. A bill is considered delinquent if payment is not received at Sam Houston Electric Cooperative by 5 p.m. on the due date indicated on your monthly statement.

Easy Ways to Pay

As a service to our members, Sam Houston EC provides a variety of payment options designed to simplify bill paying. For more information about any of these programs, contact a member service representative.

1. Pay with Cash, Check or Credit— Payments can be made online by logging in to your mySamHouston account or via phone 1-800-458-0381 by calling with a credit card number. Payments also can be made in person at one of our office locations.

Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards are accepted. Payments can also be made via check-by-phone. There’s no check to write, and no waiting for the mail to deliver your payment.

2. Automatic Payments are EasyWhen you enroll in our automatic payment program, Sam Houston EC will draft your bank account or charge your credit card in the amount of your electric bill each month. Sign up for this safe and free program online using your mySamHouston account. We’ll take it from there.

3. Fidelity Express— Members can pay their bills with cash at conveniently located Fidelity Express payment stations in stores and businesses throughout our service area. There is a $1.50 fee per transaction for this service. Click here to visit Fidelity Express' website, where you can enter your zip code and "Sam Houston Electric" for locations near you.

4. VanillaDirect/InComm– Members can pay their Co-op bill at participating retail stores, such as Dollar General, Family Dollar, CVS Pharmacy, Speedway and 7-Eleven. Simply visit pay.vanilladirect.com/pages/locations to find participating locations. Members must bring their bill to a participating retail store, and the bar code will be scanned at the register. Then the member can pay their bill. A $1.50 convenience fee will be added to their bill.

5. Budget Billing—Qualifying accounts can divide anticipated annual electric costs out evenly over the year, ensuring that your bill doesn’t fluctuate from month to month. Budget billing is a great way to combat the impact fluctuating energy use can have on your monthly budget. Learn more.

6. The Deferred Payment Plan Can Help in a Pinch—Members who maintain a payment record with no more than two delinquent notices during the preceding 12 months are eligible to request a deferred payment plan, which allows payment of outstanding debt in monthly installments. To request deferred payments, give us a call at 1-800-458-0381.

7. Pay As You Go with myPrePay— Sam Houston EC members can sign up for electric service without deposits and reconnect fees through myPrePay. When you sign up, you pay as often and as much as you’d like. You’re in control of your budget, your usage and your payments. Click to learn more.

Other Payment Programs

Group Billing—With Sam Houston Electric Cooperative’s group billing option, members with multiple accounts can now receive one itemized statement each month that includes a total payment due for all their accounts with the Cooperative. Get more information.

Landlord Connect Program—Active Sam Houston Electric Cooperative members who own rental property may wish to participate in the Landlord Connect Program that automatically puts service at a rental property back into the landlord’s name when a renter requests a disconnect. Instead of a $75 connect fee, the landlord will only accrue a $25 fee for transferring service from the tenant. To participate in this program, please contact Sam Houston EC at 1-800-458-0381 to fill out a Landlord Agreement and have your account set up as a Landlord/Tenant account.
